| I have now “ripped” all my CDs to my computer, is there a way to enjoy my music around the house without having a PC in each room?
Well, done, now that your tracks are stored on your PC, you can put all those cases away and start enjoying your music all over again. Here is a tip: If you haven’t already done so, make sure that your ripping program (itunes, Windows Media Player..etc) is set to record CDs as MP3’s (universal standard) to avoid compatibility issues with future players/software. Also go for the highest bit rate possible, in fact if you have the storage don’t be afraid to rip as a .WAV file (uncompressed, identical to the original CD).
Now I want to tell you about a totally product that has been taking the industry by storm. It is the SONOS music system. It consists of a number of local room amplifiers and a colour wireless controller. Each amplifier counts as a “Zone” meaning you can listen to different tracks simultaneously through the home. Linkin Park in the Kids room, Macarthur Park in the kitchen?
Extreme ease of use means that all members of the family will be re-discovering their music collection immediately.
Plus it is quite reasonably priced especially compared to most “multi-zone” music systems. Ask your local HiFi store for a demonstration |
